Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIPV) Antigen Rapid Test Kit Instruction

MATERIALS PROVIDED

1. Test Devices: 1 pieces test devices individually pouched.
2. Assay diluent in tube:1 units
3. Disposable swab:1 pcs

MATERIALS REQUIRED BUT NOT PROVIDED

1. Timer

SPECIMEN COLLECTION AND PREPARATION

1. The test should be perormed using feline stool(feces).
2. The specimens should be tested immediately after collection.
3. If specimens are not tested immediately, store specimen at 2~8° C for 24 hours. For longer storage, freeze at -20°C or below.
4. Feline stool(feces) should be collected as shown in the picture on the below. Excessive
5. fecal amount may induce a false positive result.

TEST PROCEDURE

1. The test device, specimen, assay diluent should be brought to room temperature (15~30°C) prior to use.
2. Place the assay diluent tube on the workstation and tear of aluminum flm.
3. Collect feline feces using a swab, then inser the swab into the assay diluent tube immediately.
4. Mix the swab until the specimen dissolves completely into the assay diluent (Approximately 10sec).
5. Squeeze the solution from the cotton swab as much as possible, then discard the cotton swab and cover the tube with dropper cap.
6. Wait for 2 minutes to precipitate the large paricles.
7. Remove the test device from the foil pouch and place it on a fat and dr surace.
8. Add 3 drops of mixed specimen drop by drop into the sample well on device verically and star the timer.
9. Read the results at 10~15 minutes. Any results after 15 minutes are no longer valid.

INTERPRETATION OF THE RESULT

Positive result:
Test line (T) and control line (C) within the result window indicate the presence
of FIPV antigen.

Negative result:
Only control (C) line appears in the result window indicating that FIPV antigen
has not been detected.

Invalid result:
If the control (C) line does not appear, the result might be considered invalid.
The specimen should be retested.

PRINCIPLES

Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIPV) Antigen Rapid Test Kit is a chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of Feline Infectious Peritonitis antigen in feline feces.

The invisible anti-FIPV antibody (T line) and secondary antibody (C line) are immobilized on a nitrocellulose membrane in result

window.Another anti-FIPV antibody is conjugated with colloidal gold particle and immobilized on glass fiber as conjugate pad. When

specimen is applied into the sample well on device, FIPV antigen will bind to the gold conjugate and migrate on the surface of test strip by passive diffusion, and a visible T line will appear in result window after 10 minutes. The C line has to appear every time when a test is  properly performed.

PRECAUTIONS

1. The test kit is for feline use only. Do not use for other animals.
2. The device is sensitive to humidity and heat.Perform the test immediately after removing it from the foil pouch.
3. Read the instructions carefully before operation and follow the instructions..
4. Do not reuse the test components.
5. Do not use the test kit if the pouch is damaged or the seal is broken.
6. Do not use the test kit beyond the stated expiration date marked on the label.
7. Do not mix components from different lot numbers because the components in this kit have been quality control tested as standard batch unit.
8. All specimens should be handled as being potentially infectious.
9. Decontaminate and dispose of all specimens, used kits and potentially contaminated materials safely in accordance with national and local regulations.

LIMITATIONS

1. This kit can provide fast and easy way to get a result, but do not completely exclude the possibility of a low incidence of false results whiich occur by various factors, veterinarians should also consider other clinical symptoms and laboratory diagnostic methods to make the definite diagnosis.
2. The kit only indicates whether feline infectious peritonitis antigen is presented in the specimen or not.
3. A negative result may be obtained if the concentration of the feline infectious peritonitis antigen present in the specimen is not adequate or is below the detectable level of the test.

NOTICE

The results of this FIPV test kit are for preliminary reference only. The final results should be based on a comprehensive examination by a hospital.

STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE

Store the test kit in a cool, dr place away from light (2~30℃). Valid for 24 months (see package).
